Within the scope of Erasmus + projects, we sent our volunteer Sanem Özdemir to Latvia with the unte Volunteer For Change II ”project between 27 March - 13 September 2017 in order to provide European Voluntary Service (EVS). The project which was realized with our partner organization SOLİS TUVAK in Latvia was based on activities with young people and children.
Throughout the project, our volunteer helped the activities organized in youth centers aiming to direct young people's leisure time to various cultural activities such as music, sports and painting. She participated in summer camps with children. He gave lectures to Latvian people who wanted to learn Turkish. He participated in seminars and conferences organized by the partner organization during his six-month volunteer service. He was in preparation for some meetings. Our volunteer also took Latvian speaking lessons and took advantage of the new language she learned in social life on the street.
Participating in the activities aimed at cultural integration and recognition of different cultures, which are the main goals of Erasmus + projects, our volunteer had the opportunity to closely observe Latvia's national celebrations. He had the opportunity to meet people from many nationalities and make friends.
Every year, Erasmus + European Voluntary Service projects with the participation of many young people from different countries; it enables young people to develop their personal, cultural and social sense while establishing good friendships.
Thanks to our volunteer Sanem Özdemir, who represented our association in Latvia very well and returned to our country happily.
